Job Description Summary
Position Responsibilities:
- Performs mobile field check-ins and repairs on floor care equipment at customer sites.
- Loads and unloads floor maintenance equipment at local branch, customer locations, and ensures proper handling for transport.
- Cleans, pressure washes, and preps equipment for repairs and details equipment for rent-ready status.
- Performs field diagnostics and repairs on floor care equipment, addressing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues at customer locations.
- Maintains safe work practices during road service calls in accordance with Sunbelt safety protocols.
- Tracks equipment location and status across multiple customer sites within assigned territory.
- Maintains organized service vehicle with proper inventory of parts and tools.
- Completes on-site repairs using mobile workshop capabilities, installing replacement parts as needed.
- Manages mobile inventory of commonly needed floor care machine parts and cleaning supplies.
- Documents field service records on tablets/mobile devices, including repair history and preventative maintenance performed.
- Performs field decal replacements and equipment detailing to maintain Sunbelt branding standards.
- Operates service vehicle throughout assigned territory, requiring valid driver's license with excellent driving record.
- Maintains and performs daily inspections on service vehicle, ensuring readiness for extensive territory travel.
- Organizes and secures specialized tools within service vehicle for mobile repair capabilities.
- Communicates directly with customers, facility managers, and contractors regarding on-site equipment needs.
- Processes electronic documentation for field service, deliveries, and pickups.
- Provides on-site customer training for safe and effective floor care equipment operation.
- Implements proper safety protocols in various customer environments (retail, industrial, healthcare).
- Coordinates with dispatch and branch locations to optimize territory coverage and equipment tracking.
- Responds to emergency service calls throughout assigned territory, including after-hours and weekend rotation.
Requirements: Education & Experience:
- 3-5 years experience IC engines, propane, electrical and hydraulic experience.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing equipment in various customer environments.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in equipment repair preferred.
- Complete set of personal mechanic's tools suitable for mobile equipment service.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for field diagnostics without workshop resources.
- Ability to prioritize service calls across territory based on customer urgency and travel efficiency.
- Self-reliant with ability to solve problems independently in the field.
- Adaptability to diverse customer environments and changing service priorities.
- Exceptional safety awareness when operating in unfamiliar work environments.
- Experience with GPS/routing software and electronic service documentation
- Strong customer service skills for direct client interaction during field service
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record, ability to safely operate service vehicle for extended periods
- Physical ability to load/unload equipment and perform repairs in various customer environments.
- Knowledge of local territory and efficient route planning strongly preferred.
Sign On Bonus: $1500
